Nursing Care Plan
Anxious, agitated or distressed behaviour can be a manifestation of many different emotions, unease, frustration, boredom, fear, confusion, pain, a search for safety, or an inability to request help. For some residents there might be inappropriate verbal or motor activity. Anxious, agitated or distressed behaviour can include negative thinking, irrational thoughts and behaviour, hysterical behaviour, incoherent babbling, screaming or repetitive questions, the agitated behaviour care plan helps to identify the resident’s issues.
Anxious, agitated or distressed physical behaviour can include walking back and forth, walking about, repetitive body motions, protective of particular things, or of possessions, or shadowing another person.
The Care Plan sets out a clear explanation of the resident’s issue, and will guide the nurse or carer through the process of preparing a comprehensive, individual person centred strategy.
